Film Friday’s

This is a little something new we want to start up; with all the digital photography we do, it’s always refreshing to relax behind an antique camera, and shoot some good, ol’ fashioned film. It gives us a chance to really slow down and get things just the way you want them before pushing that shutter. The anticipation while your negatives hang to dry is also quite nice.

We’re going to try and make this an every Friday posting where we can share some of our favorite shots from some of our favorite cameras.:)Enjoy!

Engaged: Sidney & Dahl

Location: Lullwater Park | Atlanta GA

Sidney & Dahl are two amazingly nerdy; loving; genuine; intelligent; talented people. Late last fall, we found out that they’d never gotten any engagement photos taken, and their wedding was just on the horizon. Off we went to bask in the unseasonably warm weather and grassy meadows. Enjoy!

Gear: Pentacon Six TL

Warning, High levels of photo-nerdism are detected. You have been warned.

Here is another addition to our medium format film family; This is the German-made Pentacon Six TL, circa 1959. The Zeiss Biometar lens is super sharp and soulful at f2.8, and still held in high regard today. Haven’t shot a ton with it just yet, but judging solely on what we have gotten out of it so far, I’d say it will play a pretty popular role in our arsenal. …That is, if the case would hurry up and make the trip across the pond!

Event: Man Day 2010

Ink & Dagger Tattoo presented their annual Man Day festival again this year. It was a good, old-fashioned sideshow, complete with (but not limited to) fire-juggling, silk aerial acrobatics, the wheel-of-destiny, tattoos, wing eating contest, taxidermy photo wall, arm wrestling, hot-rods, mustaches, beards, sword-swallowing, jug bands, bobbing for lobsters, good design, high-heels, and cigars. What more could you ask for?! If you missed it, try not to cry; there’s always next year, and by the looks of the last two events, dare we assume it could even get crazier?!
